what fuels your creativity, what is the source of your inspiration?
I draw on what surrounds me, what I see, what I hear, what I dream of. everything becomes an object of inspiration. my gaze meets something, it could be in the street, simply on the ground or on my desk… and then things fit together at that moment, without me even trying to put them together. there was this toy that Alexis's cat (mabille) played with, a little foam mouse, to which no one would usually pay attention, I couldn't say which of her or me found the other and the mouse ring was on its way, it was the same for these metro tickets that I had packed into bags in 1980.

Who are the people who constitute references for you in your profession?
being a reference for me requires emotion, the feeling provoked. Yves Saint Laurent moved me, I cried at each show, seeing so much perfection, so much accuracy and his ability to never do anything other than what he really loved. I also think of Arletti, the moon in my book speaks like her, with this timbre and this unforgettable jargon, this street slang.... there are beyond the referent people, people with whom we are in collusion, without even knowing them like Elsa Schiaparelli, I didn't know her work and yet our creations seemed to respond to each other as if we were relatives. and of course, I think of Jean-Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler, we have always evolved together, in parallel.

what compliment would you like to hear or hear again about your work?
that I was bold. I was told that one day. you often have to take risks to enter the light, whether to receive tomatoes or flowers, to finally know if you are righteous.

the city or destination that inspires you or resembles you?
I feel good everywhere, I never needed to go far. my home is the place in which I gather, in which I build. I like the idea that you can be your own destination, that you can create from nothing, that's what I had to do when I wrote my book. I wrote without knowing where it would end. There is also Rome which gives me a strange feeling of already experienced. my father was Italian, he had fled the regime and did not want us to return there, when I found myself there I felt a strong emotion, the feeling of being at home there, certain places remind us...
“generally speaking, rather than giving people what they want and know, I prefer to try to give them what they don't yet know that they like. »
how would you define your way of being and living?
I'm free. audacity does not go without freedom. I am therefore free in everything, free with my time, with the direction I give to my life, I am eternally undisciplined. I have had this in my heart since childhood, I already hated orders, I defied the hierarchy, I was often punished, I despised conventions. I had my son at 16, against everyone's advice. he told me one day that I gave him the right to live, it is an immense gift to make such a declaration. at 16 I was already determined (decided to keep my child), I never fit into any box. "... people have sometimes criticized me for this eclecticism. I was ahead of our time which now wants us to have several strings to our bow.

a favorite color?
contrary to what one might believe, it is not pink, to which I would prefer black if I had to choose. my pink hair showed up by chance, I was making this clip for La Française des Jeux with Arièle Dombasle, I was in charge of the costumes and I put a pink wig on the models. one of the days after filming, I put on one of these wigs to go shopping in the department stores. people looked at me smiling, it put them in a good mood. I wanted to continue to generate this feeling, perhaps an echo of my first job as a nurse where I did good to those who needed it. since then everyone has been giving me pink things...

your reference project?
my book, because it was what took me the longest, the most difficult and at the same time the most fun to do. I started it ten years ago, when I noticed the nickname “inga binga” given by Jack Kennedy's father to his son's mistress, a former Miss Denmark suspected of being a Nazi agent. This nickname made me jump, I wrote it down on a piece of paper that I lost, then found. I wanted to write a story around an inga binga who ultimately has little to do with her original namesake! I put everything that came into my head into this book, once again in complete freedom. The hardest part was finally coming full circle because my imagination was completely unbridled. I had to work a lot, search, to finally find it.

do you have any rituals in life?
I have a fantastic ritual which will seem strange to some but from which I have not deviated for a very long time: the cold bath of the buttocks. every morning, I put on several sweaters - you have to be very warm at the top of your body - and I soak my butt for 5 minutes in very cold water, raising my feet in the air. I recommand it.

the type of creation that annoys you?
I see in copying others a terrible lack of sincerity.

a favorite place to usually find yourself?
I'm almost always at home, otherwise I like to go to Flore. it's a place in which I feel a lot of positive things.

your favorite object? how much does he weigh ?
my book perhaps. not only because I spent a lot of time there, but rather because I had to read a lot, I refer to many people without whom I would not have been able to reach the end, he is the sum total of all that. it weighs 393 grams.

what has weight in your life?
my relationship with others as well as with myself and freedom, a freedom without revolt but which aims to be in harmony with what we deeply are.

your objects per gram, what are they? how do you wear them? What attracts you to le gramme?
I have the 925 silver cuff 67g. I mainly wear it with my “chicken leg” pendant. I made this piece of jewelry as a tribute to my friend Edwige who always had a real chicken leg attached to her jacket... I reproduced it for Eva Ionesco's film. I love this le gram bracelet for its simple and straightforward beauty, I have always been positively jealous of the purity of its line.

if le gramme was a quote?
le gramme marched on the heels of the world and announced its inevitable victory over the wrists of human beings....deviation of a quote from *john gives
“generally speaking, rather than giving people what they want and know, I prefer to try to give them what they don't yet know that they like. »
